3rd Annual M2XTREME

XTERRA M2Xtreme has been dubbed by the East Coast XTERRA point chasers as "the toughest course in the East" two years in a row. The swim is a 1500 Yard, 2 loop swim with a 25 yard sandy beach run between giving spectators an opportunity to see where everyone is placed. The water temp in Spruce Lake at the top of Holiday Valley this time of year averages an awesome 75°

The swim is perfect. You could not ask for a better swim venue. the bike was well marked and sufficiently challenging. while it did not have obstacles, the course required good bike handling skills (twisty turny up and around roots trees and rocks) which prevented a sustained effort and required a lot of upper body strength. The run was fun. I enjoyed having the last portion going downhill!

What it really comes down to is that my local trail that I've been riding for 2 years is a bunny trail & I've been kidding myself about my abilities. Either that or I can blame it on my bike. Yeah, that's it! It's my bikes fault! "Hey honey - I need a new bike!" But neither of us broke anything, either on our bodies or our bikes. We saw a lot of beautiful God's country & made some new friends. And we both felt great for having come through it alive.

Bottom line: we'll see you again next year. What a dirty way of getting people hooked on XTERRA.

Just wanted to thank you again for a great experience on Sunday. It was such an incredibly beautiful morning, I couldn't imagine having been anywhere else! I had fun---and I don't feel too bad today :) Can't wait for next year.
